So, I was in a sales meeting with a prospective client. I was pitching to them everything my agency can help them achieve.

The client put forward the question

“There’s a platform called MarketerHire, why should we go with you and not them, given they will help us hire in less than a week”

That’s how the meeting ended.

We took it upon ourselves to review MarketerHire and see what this platform does and things that it doesn’t do so well.

What is MarketerHire?

MarketerHire is a platform that makes it easier for businesses to hire marketing, design and sales professionals.

They have a pre-vetted database of experts on the platform.

And its AI-powered matching technology supposedly helps us match with a marketer that matches our requirements.

Marketing Roles on MarketerHire

When we began researching MarketerHire, here are some marketing-related positions that we came across:

  • Brand Marketer
  • Chief Marketing Officer
  • Content Marketer
  • Email Marketer
  • Growth Marketer
  • Paid Search Marketer
  • Paid Social Media Marketer
  • SEO Marketer
  • Shopify Marketer
  • Social Media Marketer

…you could even hire sales and design experts from MarketerHire.

How to Register on MarketerHire?

We started by filling out a short 2-minute survey on MarketerHire. They asked us about the project, what our agency needed help with, my phone number, and work email.

Here’s what the rest of the process looked like:

  • We completed the hiring brief, giving details about the vacancy that our agency wanted to fill.
  • Once all my details were shared, MarketerHire took it from there and started searching for the best match.
  • In about a week, they found someone with the exact skills I required.
  • Being a thorough agency, we set up an hour-long interview with the freelancer.
  • The management asked detailed technical questions to make sure we didn’t end up hiring the wrong person and that the said person was exactly who we needed on our team.
  • The ball’s in our court now, and we have to decide whether to hire him/her or go with something else.

MarketerHire Vetting Process

So, how do we know that MarketerHire has the best resources?

How rigorous and thorough is their vetting process?

Here’s what the MarketerHire vetting process looks like:

  • MarketerHire monitors and actively posts on Facebook groups, forums, and LinkedIn communities to hunt for top talent in the marketing industry.
  • The freelancer’s professional experience, client feedback, and work samples are taken into consideration when screening the applicants. Some may even have to give a skill-based assessment.
  • A video interview takes place with MarketerHire’s team to help assess communication skills and critical thinking.
  • For senior positions such as a Chief Marketing Officer, a test project is given (that has real-world problems, and the individual has to come up with solutions). This typically lasts for 3 weeks.
  • Every 2 weeks, MarketerHire checks in with clients to make sure that everything is going well with the freelancer.

MarketerHire: Pros and Cons

Before getting back, to the client with the data, here are a few pros and cons that we listed:

Alternatives to MarketerHire

In the case of MarketerHire, the cons outweigh the pros. So I would recommend looking for an alternative option to help you make waves in your brand’s marketing while also staying within your budget.

1. Onboard a Digital Agency

If you want marketing experts at your fingertips, it’s time to work with a digital agency. Such agencies have every type of marketing expert that you need.

Such social media agencies have worked with different clients from varying industries, making their experience far superior to the marketer that you hire.

Ideally, choose a social media agency that has a following of more than 10k on Instagram and is constantly engaging with the community, that’s who you want to work with.
